PIGGY BACK CLAMP Uses and Features
- During the installation of offshore pipelines, the use of piggyback blocks allows the installation of a smaller line on top of a main pipe, usually referred to as the carrier pipe. The top line is therefore "piggybacked" onto the carrier pipe. During installations, the piggyback block is located on the main pipe, the top line is inserted into the piggyback block and the block is then secured onto the main pipe using strapping systems.
- Our piggyback blocks are designed to suit the client specified pipe sizes and standoff (distance] between the pipes. Environmental and installation loads are also taken into account during the design of the piggyback system. The Piggyback blocks can be manufactured from a Rubber, HDPE, Polypropylene and Polyurethane.
